About Natalya

Joining Scholars Strategy Network in January 2024, Natalya Green is the Education Scholars Training Program Fellow. Through this role, she helps support the Training Team in the implementation of the Education Scholars Training Program (ESTP), a new initiative that supports cohorts of young education scholars to engage within policy work.

Natalya holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a minor in American History from the University of Central Florida, as well as a masters degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. After her undergraduate years, she worked as a middle school Social Emotional Learning teacher in her hometown in South Florida. Prior to her arrival at SSN, Natalya has served as a research assistant not only within her university community, but also with non-profit organizations such as the Intercultural Development Research Association (IDRA) and Safe Kids Worldwide. Within these roles, she conducted qualitative research to better understand the needs of the community within their retrospective organizations .

Currently, Natalya is a Ph.D.candidate at the University of Florida working toward her degree in Educational Leadership concentrated in Education Policy. Her research interests focus on the development and implementation of equal and equitable education for historically marginalized populations, particularly students who identify within the disabled, foster youth, and/or minority community.  However, her dissertation focuses on the experiences of college students diagnosed with cancer (CSDC) while pursuing higher education and how American public universities and 4-year colleges can better meet the needs of these students who are unexpectedly diagnosed.

In her spare time, Natalya enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her seven pets, and reading mystery/thriller novels.
