Publications

"A Response to Permitless Carry in Alabama", The University of Alabama, June 2024.

Discusses Alabama's "Constitutional Carry" law, arguing that it undermines public safety and harms the state’s economy. Highlights concerns about increased gun violence, particularly among minors, and the loss of revenue for law enforcement agencies that previously relied on pistol permit fees. Reccommends repealing the law to protect both public security and law enforcement funding.

"A Response to Senator Elliott’s Suspension of Early Release in Alabama", The University of Alabama, June 2024.

Argues against the proposed suspension of Alabama’s early prison release program. Presents three main reasons against the suspension: it would harm public safety, negatively impact the state economy, and damage the relationship between the state and its citizens. Emphasizes that releasing eligible, rehabilitated prisoners would help reduce overcrowding, improve prison conditions, and strengthen community relations.
