About Shari
Eli studies the impacts of social programs targeted at children; young adults and the elderly on outcomes including education; earnings and longevity. In recent published work; Eli used records from an early 20th century welfare program –Mothers’ Pensions – to explore the ways by which the receipt of cash transfers in childhood led to longer life. Her next project examines the long run effects of jobs programs targeted at young adults during economic recessions.
