About Samantha

Weckesser's research focuses on maternal and child mental health, poverty, and health policy. Overarching themes in Weckesser's writings include racial and economic health disparities, the child welfare system, Medicaid, NY health policy, housing policy, substance use disorders, and mental health. Weckesser serves as the Program Manager of the Community Health Access to Addiction and Mental Healthcare Project (CHAMP), the NYS independent mental health and substance use disorder ombudsprogram at the Community Service Society of New York and is an Adjunct Professor in Health Policy at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.
