About Julie

Cristello's research focuses on online and offline social contexts that impact alcohol and drug use among adolescents. She is specifically interested in how posting about, and exposure to, social media depictions of substances can impact offline use. Cristello's writings discuss risk and protective factors for adolescent substance use, and identify key targets for prevention programming and early intervention. Cristello serves on university committees (e.g., Cohort Representative, Practicum Committee), and in national organizations (e.g., APA Division 50, APA Science Student Council).
