In January of 2023 Dave Rapallo participated as a panelist in a conversation co-hosted by Georgetown University Law Center and the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy to discuss the January 6th Committee and its impact on congressional oversight. During the conversation Dave drew from his expertise on governance and congressional oversight and his 20 years of experience in senior roles on the Hill.

As a panelist he states, "The Trump Administration, based on my experience on the House Oversight Committee, engaged in unprecedented obstruction of investigations across the board. If you remember, he went out on the White House lawn and declared we're gonna fight all the subpoenas with no sort of substantive basis at all. And that was only three or four months into the Democratic control of the Congress. And obviously it continued on from there. So to me, the contempt citations are not the unprecedented action, it was the obstruction."
